Apple Reportedly Has Three Unannounced iOS 27 Features in Development

Apple recently closed out its week-long WWDC 2026 event, following the keynote. During the keynote, Apple unveiled iOS 27, which includes notable features like Siri AI, as well as minor software refreshes. However, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple still has three iOS 27 features it has not yet announced.
Gurman’s latest report claims that Apple is still targeting the integration of Siri through Extensions API, allowing the virtual assistant to support other chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Gurman states that Apple “held discussions with OpenAI, Anthropic and Google about supporting this new system.” Rather than having a custom deal inked with each company, Gurman speculates that Apple’s Extensions API system would allow third parties to integrate with Siri. The downside would be that there may not be as much of a privacy guarantee as the current ChatGPT deal.
Gurman speculates that there could be as many as four reasons why this feature hasn’t arrived yet. The largest could be that the deal wouldn’t work in Apple’s favour during its dispute with the DMA in the European Union. Additionally, if more advanced models were available when iOS 27 rolled out, Apple may be worried that Siri AI would be overshadowed. Apple may also be looking to mitigate litigation with OpenAI and avoid confusion with its Gemini partnerships.
Another major iOS 27 feature, which was long rumoured, is the ability to customize the Camera app. Previously, it was speculated that iOS 27 would enable users to move their controls and customize the app per their preferences. However, at WWDC 2026, Apple never touched on any sort of refresh to the Camera app. It’s now assumed that this feature will be detailed sometime in September, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Finally, Apple is reportedly developing a simplified modular watch face for the Apple Watch Ultra. Gurman reports that the watch face will reduce clutter on the second row. Instead, the watch face will further embrace the Modular Ultra’s larger clock. Gurman claims that this watch face will be revealed in September alongside the new Apple Watch devices.
