Xbox Reveals its Gamescom 2026 Lineup, Showcasing Gears of War: E-Day

Xbox has announced its lineup of games and events for Gamescom in Germany next month. As Gamescom runs from August 26 to August 30 in Cologne, Xbox will offer attendees the chance to play an assortment of games and host live stream broadcasts.

This year, the Xbox booth at Gamescom features one of the biggest lineups announced by the company. Featuring 25 games across 140 gaming stations, players will be able to get their hands on a ton of upcoming titles as well as newly released games.

This year’s Gamescom lineup from Xbox features pillars such as Gears of War: E-Day from Vancouver developer The Coalition. This is the “first public playable hands-on experience,” offering players the chance to try out the campaign ahead of its October 6 release. Gears of War: E-Day is also running an open multiplayer beta next month, from August 6th to August 10th.

Additionally, Gamescom attendees will be able to play titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Minecraft Dungeons II, Stranger Than Heaven, and Metro 2039. All of these games are slated to release later this year or into early 2027.

Xbox is also hosting a special live demo theatre presentation for Fable at Gamescom. This presentation is showcasing live gameplay that Xbox says takes “fans on a Hero’s journey that highlights its smooth and responsive combat.” The goal is to highlight the game’s seamless combat between melee, ranged and magical abilities.

Other marquee titles from Xbox’s portfolio will also be available to play. This includes the recently released Halo: Campaign Evolved alongside Forza Horizon 6 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. 

Third party titles include  Alien Deathstorm, Alien: Isolation 2, Bad Magpie, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Crowsworn, Genigods: Nezha, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, STAR WARS Zero Company, Terrible Lizards, Turok: Origins, and Valor Mortis.

On Wednesday, August 26, and Thursday, August 27, Xbox is hosting livestreamed broadcasts from Gamescom. These feature ” interviews, special guests, gameplay reveals, new trailers, and more.” The livestreams can be viewed on YouTube and Twitch throughout the days.
