Google AI Mode Can Now Track 300 Airlines and Book Your Hotel

Google Search AI Mode

Google is adding flight price tracking, loyalty-point quotes, and in-chat hotel booking to AI Mode in Search, Google said Thursday. The flight tracker works in more than 180 countries, including Canada. The hotel booking button is U.S. only.

AI Mode already compared flights and hotels and could sketch an itinerary. The new tools sit on top of that. You describe the trip in the chat, then ask AI Mode to watch the fare or lock in a room.

Flight price tracking is live in more than 180 countries and territories, in every supported AI Mode location except the EEA. Canada got AI Mode in Search last August, so the tracker is in play here. You can ask something like “track these flight prices for me,” confirm, and get an email if the fare moves. Google says the options come from more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites. Booking still happens on the airline site or your usual booking platform.

That sits alongside the AI-powered Flight Deals search Google launched in Canada last year, which hunts cheap trips from Google Flights without the usual date-and-destination grind.

Points and miles quotes are globally available in those same AI Mode countries. At launch that covers Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and the Lufthansa Group are due in the coming weeks.

Hotel booking inside AI Mode has started rolling out in the United States, in English. You pick a hotel from a visual list with reviews, tap Continue on Google, choose a room, and pay with Google Pay. The hotel or booking site stays the merchant of record. Partners on the first wave are Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

That is the same U.S.-first pattern as Google Search’s newer app connections, which still have not reached Canada, and the Maps food-ordering agents that launched with Square and Toast in the U.S. earlier this month.

Canadians can still compare hotels in AI Mode the way they already do. They just cannot finish the reservation inside Search. Dining reservations through AI Mode did land here in April, so the hotel gap is the piece that is still missing.

Stay in AI Mode from the Google app or desktop Search and look for the flight tracker first. Hotel checkout will have to wait until Google expands it past the U.S.
