If you want the best chance of getting your preferred colour, storage size and launch-day delivery window, here’s how to get everything ready ahead of time.
1. Get the Apple Store App Ready
You can pre-order through Apple.ca or through the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad.
If you already use the Apple Store app, it can make checkout easier because your Apple Account, payment information and shipping details can already be saved.
Before pre-order morning, make sure you’re signed in, your payment method is current and your shipping address is correct. If your home Wi-Fi has a habit of acting up, having cellular data ready as a backup probably isn’t a bad idea either.
2. Pick Your iPhone Ahead of Time
Decide which model, colour and storage capacity you want before pre-orders open.
- Choose between iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max or iPhone Duo
- Select your colour
- Choose your storage capacity
- Decide whether you’re trading in an older iPhone (trade-in values have risen, check yours)
- Decide whether you want AppleCare+
- Save your configuration for later if Apple gives you the option

3. Get Pre-Order Ready
Apple lets customers prepare their order before pre-orders officially begin.
Look for the Get Ready for Pre-Order option while configuring your iPhone. Apple will walk you through several steps ahead of time, including:
- Choosing your payment method
- Reviewing your order details
- Looking at accessories
- Confirming trade-in information
The idea is to get as much of the checkout process finished as possible before the store gets busy on pre-order morning. Once the Apple Store goes down the night before (Friday night), you won’t be able to edit anything.
If you don’t want to pay the full price upfront, Apple Canada is also offering 0.00% APR financing over 24 months through Affirm, subject to approval.
Apple is also offering trade-in credit toward a new iPhone, depending on the model and condition of your existing device.
4. Know Your Pre-Order Time Across Canada
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders open Saturday, September 12:
- 5:00 a.m. Pacific
- 6:00 a.m. Mountain
- 7:00 a.m. Central
- 8:00 a.m. Eastern
- 9:00 a.m. Atlantic
- 9:30 a.m. Newfoundland
Delivery and in-store availability for the Pro models begin Friday, September 18.
iPhone Duo pre-orders open Friday, October 16:
- 5:00 a.m. Pacific
- 6:00 a.m. Mountain
- 7:00 a.m. Central
- 8:00 a.m. Eastern
- 9:00 a.m. Atlantic
- 9:30 a.m. Newfoundland
iPhone Duo launches one week later on Friday, October 23.
When pre-orders open, head to Apple.ca or the Apple Store app, find your saved configuration and complete checkout.
5. Apple Offers Other Ways to Buy
If you don’t want to handle everything yourself online, Apple also offers several ways to get help before and during launch.
- Shop one-on-one online with an Apple Specialist
- Visit an Apple Store and get help choosing a model
- Use Apple’s QR code option to continue a saved order in-store
What About Rogers, Bell, Telus and Freedom?
Canadian carriers including Rogers, Fido, Telus, Koodo, Bell, Virgin Plus and Freedom Mobile are also expected to offer Apple’s new iPhones.
Carrier timing, inventory and financing options can vary, so check your carrier’s pre-order page on launch morning before assuming its queue will open at exactly the same time as Apple.
If you’re aiming for launch-day delivery, it’s worth having both Apple and your preferred carrier ready to go.
Once the order is in, West Coast buyers can go back to bed while everyone else can start wondering whether they really needed another new iPhone.

iPhone Duo
iPhone Duo ftw
iPhone Duo
Duo pricing is way more than the exchange rate! Why?
It should be $2750 in Canada not $3000 based on today’s (weak) CAD$. The is egregious, Apple! $2000 USD does not equal $3000 CAD.
