Updating to iOS 27 does not automatically activate Apple’s redesigned Siri AI on your device. Even though Apple Intelligence features are expanding, Canadian users still have to join an official waitlist to gain access to the rebuilt assistant.
Even though Apple rolled out iOS 27 to the public, Siri AI remains tagged as a beta feature. Apple is staggering access through a server-side queue to manage computational load on its servers and control initial usage volume.
Once you update to iOS 27, you must also be on a compatible Apple Intelligence device (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 series, or newer) with Siri set to a supported language to try out Siri AI. If you haven’t received access automatically after updating, here’s how you can sign up directly in your system settings:
Once your device reaches the front of the queue, Apple pushes a push notification confirming activation, and the standalone Siri app will automatically appear on your home screen.
