Apple is planning a store reset for November 6, which could mean new Macs are coming soon. That’s according to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, who said the reset points to new Mac timing.
Gurman didn’t say which Macs, but it fits with the first touchscreen MacBook Pro that Bloomberg pointed to earlier this month. He has also said these store resets happen about a week after Apple introduces the new products, so the announcement itself could come at the end of October.
That same earlier report said the new MacBook Pros would switch to OLED screens and add the Dynamic Island, with an OLED iPad mini expected around the same time.
There could be more than one Mac in the mix. Bloomberg reported that Apple also plans M6 versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac, both said to look like the current models. That could mean two kinds of 14-inch MacBook Pro on sale at once: the familiar design with an M6 chip, and the redesigned touch model. Earlier reporting described the touch models as 14-inch and 16-inch laptops with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, aimed at creative professionals. More Macs and iPads are reportedly planned for early 2027.
A store reset isn’t a confirmed launch, and Apple hasn’t announced any new Macs yet. If they do arrive, Canadians should brace for the bill, since Apple already raised prices on MacBooks and iPads here in June, and a first-generation touchscreen model probably won’t be cheap.
Are you holding out for a touchscreen MacBook Pro, or is waiting until November too long?
