Apple Stores in Canada will have some iPhone Duo units on hand for walk-in customers when Apple’s first foldable iPhone launches this Friday, October 23, but the company is warning that supply will be tight.

That’s according to MacRumors, which reported that an Apple spokesperson said walk-in availability will be “limited” at Apple Stores in select countries. Canada is on that list, along with the US, the UK, Australia, Germany, Mexico, Spain and several others.

In its statement, Apple said it is “working hard to get this revolutionary new product into customers’ hands as quickly as possible.” The company also said it expects supply to sell out quickly on Friday, pointing again to what it called “extraordinary” pre-order demand.

Shoppers in France, China, Japan, India, South Korea and a handful of other markets won’t be able to walk in and buy one on launch day. They’ll need to reserve an Apple Store pickup for a specific time slot through Apple’s online store instead. MacRumors noted that Apple limits walk-in sales in some countries at launch to manage crowds and discourage scalpers.

For Canadians, walk-in stock might be the best shot at getting an iPhone Duo this year. Online orders here have been showing February 2027 delivery dates since shortly after pre-orders opened on October 16, and Apple has capped purchases at two per customer. Apple’s Canadian online store has also been telling shoppers to check back on October 24 for pickup availability, so it isn’t clear yet whether you’ll be able to reserve a pickup on launch day.

Apple sells the iPhone Duo in Canada in Star White and Night Sky, starting at $2,999 CAD for 256GB. The 512GB model costs $3,299, the 1TB model is $3,899 and the 2TB version tops out at $4,799, all before taxes.

There’s no word on how many units each Canadian store will get or which locations will have the most stock, so showing up early on Friday is no guarantee.
