Atebits Launches its New Word Game: Letterpress

Tweetie founder Loren Brichter formerly told the world he had a new iOS game coming and it has just launched. Called Letterpress, it’s a free word game where you create words on a 5×5 board with an opponent via Game Center:

Find words, steal tiles, color the board! Letterpress is a fresh new word game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Play against your friends using Game Center! The perfect blend of fun and strategy.

Letterpress is a free download that allows you to play two games max at a time. An in-app upgrade for $0.99 allows you to play multiple games at once, see played words and unlock new themes.

After a quick test of Letterpress, the simplicity of the design and interface is very pleasant. There are some neat sound effects and animations when you jump into games. So far, it’s been simple to play but I’ll have to give it a few more rounds before I can cast judgment, but so far it’s a pretty decent. But since the game is free, you can try it out yourself and tell me what you think.

Click here to download Letterpress and let me know what you think of it.
