Apple announced today that it will import the renowned iTunes Festival to the US. During the five nights of the event, the iPhone maker promises five amazing shows featuring Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, and more.

The event will take place at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits, and will serve as part of the South by Southwest (SXSW) festivals between March 11 and 15.

“The iTunes Festival in London has become an incredible way for Apple to share its love of music with our customers,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We’re excited about the incredible lineup of artists performing and SXSW is the perfect place to debut the first iTunes Festival in the US.”

Those who cannot make it to the festival can stream it for free on their iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, or PC . . . and, of course, on the Apple TV in HD.

The iTunes Festival was launched in London back in 2007, and it has been bringing free live shows to the city.
