Earlier, it was reported Rogers and Videotron had waived Internet data limits for its customers to accommodate for the increasing surge of teleworking, and now Telus has also similarly done the same.
A Telus spokesperson told iPhone in Canada the company is “waiving all home Internet overages through the end of April for those who are not on unlimited plans and have overage charges.”
But Telus is also stepping up for wireless customers, specifically those on Easy Roam and accruing Pay Per Use roaming charges, which includes Koodo customers. Telus and Koodo customers trapped in Level 3 advisory areas such as China and Italy and are unable to return, will see their roaming charges waived until the end of April.
As for customers affected financially by coronavirus, Telus says they will provide flexible payment options. “We don’t want anyone to worry about not being able to pay their bill on time if they have been financially affected by the crisis,” explains the company’s spokesperson.
Telus says it will also be expanding its virtual healthcare capabilities, which are available through the Babylon by Telus Health app (B.C. and Alberta residents) and Akira Health app (Ontario businesses).
“We are training additional care practitioners so that we can provide increased support on these channels, which will help prevent the spread of infection,” added Telus.
Telus says the “vast majority” of its home Internet customers already have unlimited data and its small business plans already have unlimited internet.
