The carrier has promised to create 8,500 new jobs for Albertans and to connect more families and businesses to its world-leading 5G and PureFibre networks.

Telus is using the power of its Smart Hub technology and award-winning 5G network to bring rural Canadians in B.C. and Alberta home Internet speeds up to 100 Mbps.

Residents in Leduc were among the first in the country to access these ultrafast home Internet speeds, which is up to four times faster than speeds currently available through a 4G network.

“Leveraging innovation that opens doors for our residents, business owners, and local community groups is a key component of our vision for the City of Leduc’s growth,” said Bob Young, Mayor of Leduc.

“Our broadband technology is supporting critical, transformational change in respect of enabling online healthcare, education and teleworking flexibility, and accelerating Canada’s digital economy and society for heightened productivity, competitiveness and human welfare outcomes in the post-pandemic period.” — Darren Entwistle, President, and CEO of TELUS

With these faster 5G Internet speeds, customers in Leduc can simultaneously stream their favourite shows, play games, surf the web, make video calls, and work or learn remotely.
