Videotron Promo: Unlimited USA/Canadian Voice, Texting, 3GB Data, $55 Per Month

Videotron has launched a competitive voice and data plan for residents in Quebec. Here’s what’s included in their new Unlimited Voice and Data 55 promo:
- Unlimited anytime local calling
- Unlimited long-distance calls to Canada and the US
- Unlimited text messaging (text, photo and video)
- Call Display
- Voicemail (up to 35 voicemails)
- Call Waiting and Conference Calls
- 3 GB data add-on
- Promotion: 5-hour illico mobile plan free for 12 months
All plans of course include free and unlimited local and long distance calls within Quebec between Videotron residential and mobile customers. For calls while traveling in North America, it’s only $0.30/minute.
Just yesterday we relayed a report that said Quebec could be seen as a model for wireless competition. It is highly unlikely we will see a similar plan offered by our incumbents outside of Quebec for a plan like this. You can count on the ‘Big 3’ to eventually match this plan, like they have with 6GB data Videotron promos in the past. Unlimited calls to the USA plus 3GB of data makes for a decent plan.
Videotron, which runs on an AWS HSPA+ network, announced the T-Mobile iPhone 5 will be compatible on their network last month. If you’re okay with 3G network speeds, this plan just might be for you and your unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 5.

I think Wind package is still better. I could be wrong though
If carriers charged 50.00 for a plan like this with 6GB, I think adoption rates would be much higher, and we would tend to be more satisfied with the pricing. Now that the Iphone runs on the 3 new players hopefully we will see some price wars. Sadly the 3 little guys are for sale and we know what will happen if the big 3 scoop them up. Sad days ahead potentially.
I came back from vacation in Hong Kong 2 weeks ago, and I’m so sad to see and pay for our garbage phone and internet plans here in Canada… so sad…
your still data roaming outside of quebec, no thanks
Not everyone are travelling outside of Quebec you know, so for most of the people such as me, it’s a really good deal!
