Review: OtterBox Impact Case

Most of you long time readers recognize the name Otterbox. We have done numerous product reviews of them including their Defender Case for the iPhone 3G. Today we have another fantastic case from Otterbox called the “Impact Case” for the iPhone 3G that merges durability, protection, and style into a slim silicone case!

Impact Case by OtterBox

OtterBox is one of the bigger names in technology protection that focuses very much on the durable side of things. Some of their cases are a bit bigger than most, but you can also do alot more with them that you cannot necessarily do with other cases such as submerge your iPhone in water or even run over it with a car!

However today we have the OtterBox Impact case which is a different type of case from what you may typically view OtterBox as.

The Impact case is a silicone case but around the case there are raised edges along with thicker areas of silicone. The inside corners also have coring which means that the case actually dissipates impacts away from the iPhone and this adds additional strength to the case for impacts.

Once the case is on the iPhone 3G, you have access to the touchscreen, dock connector, silent switch, camera, and headphone jack and there are cut outs for the sensors and outgoing audio speaker. The home button, sleep button, and volume keys are also accessible, but they are covered with the silicone.

The Impact case is not your typical silicone case and I highly recommend it for people that like the silicone style cases, but want maximum protection for the overall device.

If you would like to have this case for yourself, I will give this one away today to the first person below to post what colors the case comes in!

The OtterBox Impact case runs for $19.95 from the OtterBox website.

Enjoy!
