Re/code’s highly-connected reporter John Paczkowski is saying sources have told him Apple’s next iPad event will take place on Thursday, October 16:
Apple has a few more new products to unveil before the year is out, and it plans to show them off in a couple weeks. Sources tell Code/red the company will hold its next special event on Thursday, Oct. 16 — not the 21st. Headlining the gathering: The latest updates to its iPad line, along with those new iMacs that 9to5Mac told us about earlier this week. Also: OS X Yosemite.
The unveiling will take place at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, said to be a more laid-back affair as the venue is smaller than other venues used for WWDC and the recent iPhone 6 event. New iPads are coming (most likely to get Touch ID, faster processors) along with rumoured Retina iMacs, plus the availability of OS X Yosemite.
Last year, Apple held its iPad event on October 22, the same day OS X Mavericks was released for download, plus Retina MacBook Pros were updated, along with the debut of the iPad Air and Retina iPad mini–and the surprise announcement of the Mac Pro.
