Hey Gary. Totally understand the need for advertising on your site. Any thoughts about removing the annoying banner ads, though? They’re quite distracting and when I try and hit the tiny x to close the ad, it usually opens them. sigh. I just want to read your columns, please don’t make me contend with banner ads.
Thank goodness I’m not the only one. The Canadian Tire ad last night was driving me nuts. I would hit the ‘close’ button but then it would travel right across the screen and push the text (that I was intending to read) left off the screen. It seemed oddly not iphone friendly considering the nature of the site.
At least you see an exit button, all i have is an expand button. Takes up half the page to begin with.
If you’re referring to the skyscraper in the mobile view we asked our third party network to block all types of those ads. Email me a screenshot if you see something like that again, those are not planned at all. Thanks.
Thanks, Gary. I did include a screenshot in my original post. I’d be happy to email it to you as well. Maybe I’m not looking close enough, but I don’t see an email address. Can you please provide one?
You can email tips AT iphoneincanada.ca or use our site’s contact form. The ad has been turned off, let us know if you see any others pop up. Thanks
I agree. The side ads are fine. The sticky banner ad on the bottom is very annoying.
Any idea why Apple isn’t taking preorders?
What happened to iPad in Canada? Is it an abandoned site now?
It’s not abandoned, but it’s on a hiatus as we are now merging iPhone, iPad and Mac coverage to iPhoneinCanada.ca. We have future plans for iPadinCanada and we’ll let you know soon.
Any idea if Apple will be doing midnight orders? Or what time it will go on sale on the website?
