Rumour has it that the next-generation iPad Air will feature the fingerprint sensor introduced with the iPhone 5s and branded as Touch ID. And, for the skeptics, here is the first set of images clearly showing the Home button seen on the iPhone 5s, and a short video posted on Instagram showing how it works.
The rumour mill has been busy spilling information about the next-generation iPhone, but little has been said recently about the second-generation iPad Air. Apple’s tablet is back in the news again, thanks to Japanese site iKingMobile (via Nowhereelse), which posted a new set of images clearly showing a tablet that is allegedly the iPad Air 2 with built-in fingerprint sensor.
The Japanese source mentions that the images show only an iPad Air 2 mockup, so it isn’t a working unit. But we stumbled upon a short video posted on Instagram showing an alleged iPad powered on.
Since we cannot confirm the authenticity of any of the above images, we take these image leaks with a grain of salt.
