Bloomberg: New iPhone on Sept. 10; Thinner iPad, Retina iPad mini Later

Bloomberg is chiming in with their sources about what we can expect at Apple’s upcoming September 10 iPhone event. The publication reports a new iPhone will be coming, but a new 9.7-inch thinner iPad and Retina iPad mini will come later:

After having minimal product introductions since last year, Apple will unveil a new iPhone at a Sept. 10 event, according to a person familiar with the plans. New iPad models, including an iPad with a thinner body design and an iPad mini with a high-resolution screen will be unveiled later, two people said.

The planned new full-size iPad, with a 9.7-inch screen, will have a body that more closely resembles the current iPad mini, with a thinner bezel than the current version, said the people.

Earlier today the WSJ reported the next-generation 9.7-inch iPad would use the same display panel as the iPad mini, thus resulting in a slimmer device.

The fourth generation iPad was announced last September, while the iPad mini debuted the next month in late October. Right now, it feels like history just might repeat itself.
