New iPhone To Be Revealed On June 22, 2010?

If history plays any role, Apple will release a new iPhone this June/July 2010. Since 2007, a new iPhone has been released every year within the same June/July time frame and we now expect the same time frame for 2010.

With rumors already posting an iPhone for a June 22, 2010 release, that time frame lines up nicely for Apple’s annual WWDC event. In the last two years, Apple has released the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS at WWDC and the annual summer event is now Apple’s only remaining trade show.

Reports indicate that Apple has booked off June 22nd at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and may use it for its WWDC keynote. Apple typically holds its WWDC event at the Moscone Center West.

Apple has already announced that the iPhone OS 4.0 will be available this summer, so we could very well see a new iPhone and the full release of OS 4.0 by June 22, 2010.

There's a good chance it could be unlocked since the Nexus One sells unlocked. Come on Apple!

I'll be only 15 months through my 3 year contract with rogers on a 3G but really want to upgrade to this phone. Any tips on scoring the upgrade?

I think Rogers allows for an early upgrade after the 1st year.

If you spend a lot of money every month (like me @ 250$ + per month), then you automatically qualify for an upgrade within a few months of owning the device. Its quite simple, if you pay 70$/month, after 3 years, you end up paying 2520$ for your full contract. In the case of someone like me, I spend that amount in 10 months so the more you spend, the more negotiation power you have.

I find if you expect to be disappointed, when it happens it's not so suprising.

I doubt it will be released on June 22. More likely announced on June 22, available in 3-6 weeks following the announcement.

they allow for an early upgrade option after 6 months i believe, and you pay the “upgrade price” plus $10 per month until the next upgrade date.

also, upgrade eligibility is every 2 years, even though you signed onto a 3 year contract….basically they get you to “extend” after 2 years.

i miss the days when if u bundle your bills that goes towards revenue based upgrades which meant with all my rogers services i'd be eligible for a top tier upgrade price every 3-4 months hehe 😛

Yeah, as it stands now, no upgrade for me yet. The 3G still does the job for me. Sinces it is already Jailbroken, I can use the 3rd party multi-tasking if required.
