MacBook Pro With 14-Inch Display Could Arrive in 2021, Claims Leaker

Apple is said to be releasing its rumoured new 14-inch MacBook Pro in 2021, according to a leaker on Twitter.

Apple’s new 13-inch MacBook Pro was more of a minor tweak than a major upgrade. But Twitter leaker @L0vetodream suggests that Apple’s rumoured 14-inch MacBook Pro could be on the way — although not until next year.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro was expected by some fans as a replacement for the 13-inch laptop. However, this didn’t happen and, as a result, a lot of the innovative new features of the 16-inch MacBook Pro are still MIA.

This is an anonymously-run Twitter account that, up to this point, actually has a pretty good track record when it comes to revealing Apple secrets before they are officially official. If you’ll recall this is the Twitter account that revealed details about the new iPhone SE before Apple got around to announcing it.

In response to the tweet, reputable leaker Jon Prosser backed the claim with the response “100%.”

Sources have predicted the 14-inch MacBook Pro may feature mini-LED displays, which offers a wide colour gamut performance, high contrast and HDR, and local dimming – a technology that dims the backlight behind areas of the screen that are displaying black while keeping the bright parts of the screen bright.

None of this makes clear exactly when the new laptop will be shipping, of course. 2021 is a whole year — and there’s a big difference between waiting 18 months from now and until the very start of next year. However, if you’re on the fence about the 13-inch MacBook Pro, considering getting it only for the new keyboard, this may be a reason to hold off on a purchase for now.
