Anker’s MFi Certified USB-C to Lightning Cable is $3 Cheaper than Apple’s

Following Apple’s announcement of MFi (Made for iPhone) specifications for USB-C to Lightning last month, Belkin teased the world’s first Apple-approved third-party USB-C to Lightning cable at CES 2019. However, Anker has just become the first accessory maker to put up an MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning cable for pre-order.

As pointed out by The Verge, the three-foot-long white USB-C to Lightning from Anker is not only $3 cheaper than Apple’s offering at $15.99 USD, but also comes with a lifetime warranty. According to Anker’s internal testing, the new PowerLine II USB-C Cable with Lightning Connector is 12 times more durable than other cables with a 12,000 bend lifespan.

A number of other third-party accessory manufacturers have also announced MFi USB-C to Lightning cables since the CES, but all of them so far have been priced over $20 USD.

Preorders for the cable are now open in white colour, with Anker expecting to start shipping it to customers later in February. The cable will also be made available in other colours later on.
