Apple’s 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro Delivery Delays Blamed on New Display Supply, Report Says

Apple today announced its new M1 iPad Pro is set to launch in stores and online this Friday, May 21.

However, early 12.9-inch iPad Pro orders with the new Liquid Retina XDR display are seeing delivery dates well into June and early July.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is still facing supply chain issues for the technology behind the Liquid Retina XDR display, known as MiniLED. Unnamed sources note Apple’s supply chain continues to produce the more complex displays in high quantities.

Apple said during its recent earnings call the semiconductor shortage affecting industries worldwide will hit its bottom line, along with heavy product demand, as they predict losing out on up to $4 billion in revenue.
