Best Buy is also set to launch iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max pre-orders on September 14, 2018. The retailer will have reservations available both in-store and online, just like they did last year for iPhone X.
Last year’s online pre-order process asked customers to select their carrier, device, colour, capacity, and then require a $50 deposit to hold your place in line.
When customers get the call to visit their Best Buy to pick up their iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max, they will see their $50 deposit applied to the price of the phone. Last year, Best Buy required all iPhone X models purchased to be activated in-store, and we suspect this may be the case again for iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max.
Best Buy’s pre-orders for iPhone have turned out in the past to be much faster than going through a Big 3 carrier’s reservation system.
So far, we have iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs carrier pricing for Rogers and Fido. Telus/Koodo and Bell/Virgin should release their pricing soon, which most likely will be identical to Rogers/Fido.
Update Sept. 14, 1:27AM PDT: Best Buy’s online pre-order is now live, and requires a $50 deposit.
