President Donald Trump has clarified his position on why he called Apple CEO Tim Cook by the name of “Tim Apple”—when the latter was right beside him.
Video evidence clearly showed Trump referring to Cook as ‘Tim Apple’, which was clearly a mistake.
However, the American President has now explained on Twitter what really happened. Calling Cook ‘Tim Apple’ was all about saving time, and the fake news media, of course, was unfairly reporting ‘bad’ stories about the President.
This morning, Trump tweeted, “At a recent round table meeting of business executives, & long after formally introducing Tim Cook of Apple, I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words. The Fake News was disparagingly all over this, & it became yet another bad Trump story!”

Axios last night reported Trump lied to his Republican National Congress donors yesterday about the ‘Tim Apple’ video, which is probably why the President tried to clear the air this morning:
Trump told the donors that he actually said “Tim Cook Apple” really fast, and the “Cook” part of the sentence was soft. But all you heard from the “fake news,” he said, was “Tim Apple.”
For anyone who has seen the video, it’s clear there was no mention of ‘Cook’ by Trump. Maybe your ears are fake news?
