Get Apple Music for Free via Shazam, for Up to 5 Months

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is currently giving away up to five months of free Apple Music to anyone who hasn’t subscribed to the music streaming service before, similar to the promo Apple ran between Black Friday and Cyber Monday last year.

Apple Music is notorious for offering months’ worth of free subscriptions to customers, former subscribers and potential consumers included. Apple often partners with other entities for these promotions, but has decided to run its latest promo through Shazam — an audio identification app the Cupertino-based tech giant acquired back in 2018.

If you have never subscribed to Apple Music before, you can get up to five months of free Apple Music by simply downloading the Shazam app on your iPhone or iPad, launching the app, and tapping the Shazam icon within the app with a song playing in the background. The app will then proceed to identify the song and give you the option to play it on Apple Music, and tapping on this option will display an offer for up to five months of Apple Music for free.

The promo is available to users in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and more, and will run through January 17, 2021, as confirmed by Shazam’s official App Store page which states:

Holiday Offer through 1/17/21! Download & Shazam a song to receive up to 5/mo free of Apple Music. New Apple Music users in GB, AU, US, CA, IN, NO, SE & more, terms apply.

Some users have also reported seeing a banner for an extended free trial of Apple Music in Shazam’s settings.

If you don’t have it already, you can download the Shazam app for free from the App Store.
