It’s that time of the year again. Kids are heading back to school, and parents are trying to make this process as easy and painless as possible. Google Canada has released a list of what’s hot for “Back to School” 2107 fashion, and things are feeling very, well, 90s-esque.
Many Canadians turn to Google to get a head start on back to school shopping. Since so many people are making the same searches, Google has compiled a list of what’s trending for both parents and students.
Interestingly enough, it seems as if today’s youth are harkening back to what, for many of us, was the golden age of school style. Some of the hottest items on Google’s list include overalls, hoodies, crop tops, and flannel shirts. Sounds familiar, no?
Additionally, high fashion brand Gucci has “set the tone for multiple fashion trends over the past few seasons,” reads the report, and this influence seems to be continuing, as search interest in Gucci belts, sunglasses, and slides seem to be rising.
Funnily enough, two quintessential 90s accessories are coming back in a big way: the fanny pack and Birkenstocks. On top of that, “vegan” and “plastic” Birkenstocks have seen a big uptick in searches. Whatever that means.
