Instagram Adds New Ways to Share to Stories from Spotify and GoPro

Today, Instagram announced that it will be letting third-party services tap into the social network’s more than 800 million users in new ways.

The Facebook-owned company said that it will now allow users to share content to their Instagram Stories directly from Spotify and other apps like GoPro. The Spotify integration will be available to all users starting on Tuesday. Facebook Stories will also be getting a similar feature.

In order to use the feature, users will have to tap the share button in Spotify or GoPro app and their content will be pulled directly into the Intagram camera. Users will then be able to edit the content and add it to a Story or send it directly to a friend.

Additionally, Instagram is now letting third-party developers create AR effects using Facebook’s Camera Effects platform. Facebook also announced that they will be bring support to AR filters to other apps like Facebook Messenger.

The company has also announced that they are testing a group video chat feature, which it plans to roll out to all users globally soon.

All these new features were announced today at Facebook’s F8 developers conference, which runs from May 1-2 in San Jose.
