Did you stay up late or set your alarm this morning to pre-order an iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max? If you did, it appears the iPhone Xs Max was the popular model chosen by Canadians, or Apple had tonnes of iPhone Xs stock available.
A quick look at Apple’s current shipping dates for both models as of writing, shows the iPhone Xs as still widely available for its September 21 launch date. All colours and configurations are still showing as available for one week from today.
As for the iPhone Xs Max, all 64GB models in white, space gray and gold are showing as available for September 21, while higher configurations of 256GB and 512GB are now showing shipping dates of October 2-10.
What does this mean? It suggests the iPhone Xs Max was the popular model to pre-order in Canada yesterday, or Apple has more iPhone Xs stock compared to the larger model on hand.
When it comes to Apple Watch Series 4, all aluminium and stainless steel models, both GPS and GPS and Cellular versions, are not available at launch anymore. Most are showing shipping dates of October 15-19, while smaller 40mm versions with cellular are showing dates of October 5-15, suggesting the latter was not as popular last night.
Our unscientific pre-order poll yesterday concluded the iPhone Xs Max and Apple Watch Series 4 would be popular items, and it appears that may have been true. But still, just over a third of respondents voted they would not be ordering anything.
Yesterday’s pre-order was relatively smooth despite its late start at around 12:05AM PDT/3:05AM EDT. Again, most were frantically placing their orders like stock would run out, still nervous for iPhone pre-order day (my wallet is still nauseous).
What did you pre-order yesterday?
