Apple’s Next-Gen MacBook Air Might Feature Vibrant Colours

Apple’s next MacBook Air models might have a dash of colour to them, if a leaker is to be believed.

Apple’s next-generation MacBook Air will follow in the footsteps of the M1 iMac with a range of vibrant colour options, according to famed Apple leaker Jon Prosser.

In his latest Front Page Tech report, Prosser — who accurately leaked back in February that Apple was planning to announce a new iMac with a major design overhaul — claims that Apple’s next MacBook will also be getting a colourful makeover.

The source, which is the same person that gave Prosser information about Apple’s colourful M1 iMacs, claims to have seen a blue MacBook prototype that looks “absolutely amazing.”

Prosser’s source first texted him with a chart from Apple’s MacWorld 1999 presentation, which showed Apple’s then-strategy. Consumers get colourful desktops and laptops, while Pro’s get slightly more restrained designs. This chart seems to be the big hint that this leak is about the next Air and not the MacBook Pro 2021.

The revelation isn’t a complete surprise following the launch of the 24-inch iMac. Apple’s new all-in-one is a throwback to the original iMac G3, which was followed a year later by the matching iBook. If Apple is drawing a colourful line between its consumer and pro products, it makes sense that new MacBook hues will be arriving.
