Musk said “Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September. Team has done an amazing job. Seriously next level.” An electric semi truck would be yet the next frontier for Tesla in its efforts to push ahead with electric automated vehicles.

Also, a convertible is coming from Tesla. Musk replied to a follower the “next gen Roadster will be convertible.”

As for the Tesla pickup truck, Musk responded to a follower that unveil is coming in 18 to 24 months.

As for those of you waiting for the Model 3 unveil, the CEO said the final announcement will be held in July.

Numerous Canadians plunked down a $1000 refundable deposit to reserve their Model 3 a year ago, for which local pricing has not been announced. The Model 3 will start at $35,000 USD and will come with the company’s latest Autopilot Hardware 2 (which you’ll have to pay for to unlock via software update).

Tesla has said they should be able to demo full autonomous driving by end of 2017, meaning a car could drive from LA to NYC on its own and vice versa, recharging itself at Supercharger stations along the way.
