Shaw’s Freedom Mobile is now offering home internet—but it’s only available in Calgary, Alberta, as part of a limited test.
Eligible Freedom Mobile customers can sign up for a $55/month plan offering download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and unlimited data.
Who can sign up for pilot test of home internet with Freedom Mobile? A customers on a $40/month or higher postpaid plan can do so, at 11 retail locations, the company tells MobileSyrup.
Customers will take home a Freedom Wi-Fi Gateway modem and install it themselves in the home. According to Freedom Mobile’s website:
Note: If you picked up your modem from a Freedom Mobile location, your modem is already active and can be installed using the included instructions – there’s no need to contact us. If we shipped you a modem, you will need to message us here and select “Technical Support” to activate it on your account.
Give your local Freedom Mobile retail store a call before heading down to make sure you can sign up and also get a modem to take home to setup.
