During the last week of December, Shaw’s Freedom Mobile offered some promo plans, with one being a prepaid offer of $29 for 5GB of data.
This prepaid plan offer was set to end on January 27, but it’s still available on Freedom’s website. The plan includes unlimited Canada-wide calling and international SMS/MMS, to go with 5GB of data (2GB + 3GB bonus).
If you’re in a city with Freedom Mobile coverage and you’re a light cellphone user, this may be worth considering on prepaid. However, do note it comes with a $10 activation fee and the price includes Digital Discount (setting up a pre-authorized credit card payment). The plan is also only being discounted for 12 months at $5/month off, so after one year it’ll jump up to $34.
Another plan worth considering with coverage on the Rogers LTE network though, is a Zoomer promo plan, such as a $36/4GB offering with $100 in bill credits and a free (dumb) phone.
