Shaw’s Freedom Mobile is dealing with a network outage right now, with many customers unable to make or receive phone calls.
A look at DownDetector.ca shows a huge spike in issues with Freedom Mobile. Many customers are venting on Twitter and other social media channels about being unable to make or receive calls, while some are unable to use data:

My data was completely shut off last night and this morning. Now today since noon my phone doesn’t work at all. I can’t make or receive calls. All I get is busy signals when I call from a different line. Freedoms customer service lines are down too. I can see on Twitter people complaining to support from all over Canada. Also the reports from the outage map. What is going on and why aren’t they using their social media to let people know they’re on top of this.
Many are saying even dialling 611 doesn’t work and the company’s own support line is down.
Are you dealing with outages on the Freedom Mobile network right now? The company’s social media channels haven’t posted any updates, but we’ve reached out to the company for comment and will update this post accordingly.
Update: Freedom Mobile posted the following at 1:39pm PT to say, “We are currently experiencing intermittent interruptions to Voice Services and calls to Customer Care. We’re working hard to get it all sorted out and we’re hoping to be back to normal soon. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
