First Canadian Tesla Model Y Orders Hit ‘Prepare for Delivery’ Stage

During Tesla’s fourth quarter earnings at the end of January, the company moved up its delivery timeline for its Model Y compact SUV for both customers in the United States (March) and Canada (mid-2020).

Recently, the first U.S. customers started receiving order confirmations via email, to confirm final pick up dates for the Model Y.

Now, it appears some Canadians are also seeing some progress in their Model Y order status, with many seeing their online accounts move to ‘Prepare for delivery’.

Some Canadian Tesla owners, once logged into their account on Tesla’s website, were asked to enter their address and postal code to move onto the next delivery steps.

One iPhone in Canada reader shared screenshots of his Model Y order progress, showing their Long Range AWD Canadian order pricing and the vehicle’s ‘Prepare for delivery’ stage.

“As your delivery date approaches, we’ll contact you to confirm your registration, payment method and, if applicable, trade-in details,” reads the website.

The next steps would be for payment and then delivery, according to the Tesla website’s timeline.

Tesla’s Model Y AWD Performance configuration starts at $84,390 CAD, while the AWD Long Range starts at $72,390 CAD. Both have a listed range of 507 km. The company’s 7-seater option has been delayed until 2021, while RWD configurations remain up in the air, as they are no longer listed on the company’s website.
