Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Beta With Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 For Mac & Windows
Earlier today, Apple pushed iOS 5.0.1 beta to the developers community with numerous fixes include those affecting battery life. Moments ago, @MuscleNerd of Dev-Team has tweeted that the latest beta can be jailbroken using the existing version of Redsn0w. All you need to do is point at iOS 5 IPSW instead of today’s release to make it work. Once again, it works for iPhone 3GS/4, iPod touch 3G/4G and original iPad. No support for iPhone 4S or iPad 2 yet.
Here’s the tweet:
Devs trying today’s 5.0.1 beta can JB with existing redsn0w http://is.gd/6eek4Y (but select the 5.0 IPSW thru GUI or command line)
Please remember, the jailbreak is once again only tethered meaning you need to connect your device to a computer and run Redsn0w on every reboot. However, a temporary fix aka “SemiTether” was released on Cydia recently by BigBoss. You can read more about it here.
You can grab the latest Redsn0w via following official download links:

Tethered jailbreaks are useless.
The majority of people who jb their phone know what they are doing and would rather wait til a untethered jb is available.
Hum why dont they work on the 5.0 untethered jailbreak first? Nobody cares about tethered 5.0.1!
