Nokia’s Here Maps is Now Available in The App Store

Nokia promised to port its “Here” mapping service on iOS and the good news is that just a week after making this promise the maps application is available in the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Nokia Here

Nokia’s Here mapping service was first spotted in the App Store by The Next Web, and it packs turn-by-turn walking navigation, which is currently unavailable for Apple Maps (for iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS owners). While the app covers about 200 countries, it also includes features like multiple view options (Map, Satellite, Public Transportation and Live Traffic view) and you can see the traffic incidents — by toggling on the option to display them — as the service claims it will notify you if there is an accident, construction, congestion or other incidents on the road that you plan to take.

The Finnish company’s mapping service is one of the first no-cost rivals to Apple Maps, which heavily affected the iOS 6 user base. Google is also planning to launch a standalone iOS app in the near future.
