Siri Seems to Exit ‘Beta’ With The Launch of iOS 7
Apple first introduced Siri, the voice control system for iOS, along side the iPhone 4S in October 2011. At launch, it was no more than a gimmicky feature that was able to do very limited tasks. It was released with quite a few bugs and it only knew English, French, and German.
Slowly, with multiple iOS updates, Siri has shown many improvements with the addition of many languages and capabilities. With iOS 7, Siri has a redesigned user-interface, new capabilities, and all-new life like voices.
In two years, most of the bugs have now disappeared and Apple has fixed many server side issues.
With iOS 7 coming September 18, Apple will finally be taking Siri out of “beta.” This past week, Apple has updated its Siri webpages dropping any references to the product being in beta. Previously on Apple’s website, the Siri information page said:
Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.
Now the page has been changed to:
Siri is available on iPhone 4s or later, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.
Apple will release iOS 7 on September 18, just two days before the launch of the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

So Siri will no longer be on my iPad 3 (Retina Display with 30 pin dock connector) if i upgrade it to iOS 7? Can someone plz clarify this? Thanks!
How did you come to that assumption?
it clearly states:
Now the page has been changed to:
Siri is available on iPhone 4s or later, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.
Come on people.
What are you saying? I’m confused. When I first read this article 2 days ago it said “iPad with Retina display”. That’s the iPad 3. A day after I questioned it, someone else also suggested that Siri wouldn’t work on the iPad 3. So that means the above article wasn’t changed.
So either people are reading something into the above article that isn’t there, or they have another source. If the latter, I’d like to see a link to that source so I can read more about it.
I am not sure of others sources. I just read this article and that was my understanding. If you check out Apple’s website it states;
1: Siri is no longer in beta
2: Siri is available on iPhone 4s or later, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. (read the fineprint)
I currently have a iPad 3 or iPad with Retina display (whatever to choose to call it) and siri works completely fine and will work on iOS 7.
What do you need clarification? That you have trouble reading?
Interesting… Looks like your right about that. That would suck.
Please share where you got this information.
Siri will still work on iPad 3 🙂
Works just fine on iPad 3 With cellular.
iPad with Retina display is the iPad 3 with Retina Display. If the wanted to distinguish between iPad 3 or 4 they would say 3rd gen or 4th gen,
“it was no more than a gimmicky feature”

“gimmicky feature” my ass.
I wont update, not because I do not use Siri, but for the simple fact Of waiting for a Jailbreak. Why? Not piracy, but Theming. If Apple just included Winterboard like capabilities, it would be Awsome complete (well not 100% complete/perfect without other jailbreak tweaks)
