Architect Norman Foster Speaks In Apple Campus 2 Promo Clip [VIDEO]
Apple originally announced plans for its new campus in the summer of 2011. The new ‘spaceship’ like campus was the legacy of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs which will add roughly 41,000 jobs to Santa Clara County and generate an annual surplus of $11 million to Cupertino.
Below is the original video of Steve jobs presenting the idea to Cupertino City Council.

MacGeneration noted the video of Apple’s final presentation to the City of Cupertino finally posted online. The images below are from The Mercury News, seen yesterday.

Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer, left, and Senior Director of Real Estate and Facilities at Apple, Dan Whisenhunt show this newspaper a rendering of Apple’s proposed new campus on Oct. 10, 2013 at an Apple’s office located at the proposed new campus site in Cupertino.

An overview of a rendering of Apple’s proposed new campus. The park will be located in the centre of the campus.
Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, said:
The concept of the building revolves around collaboration and fluidity. It will offer a truly open system space, so at some point in the day you may be in the offices of one of the sides of the ring and and later in the day you will find the other side.
The architect Norman Foster said the idea of the circular building was unique with a park in the center. Oppenheimer said, “we realized that the buildings square, rectangular, or elongated shapes or those with more than four floors would be detrimental to the team.”
Below is the video shown to the Cupertino City council from last week, presenting the final project (about 8 minutes in) and it is a polished video with Norman Foster sharing details of the project:
Apple’s plan is scheduled for a final vote before the Cupertino City Council on Oct. 15.

one more reason to turn down a job with Apple Inc these days for, Who is going to take the risk going living and working somewhere in the middle of nowhere. (+ do we really like a “Chip of the Es Pays”) take care,
marc
Cupertino is sunny all the time. Enough said.
hell being a janitor in the place would rock. And all the parking you want, or public transit. i bet they give you stuff if you go green with public transit. And with it being sunny all the time and lower traffic, its perfect place to have a motorcycle lol
Hmm I should apply to be the mail guy. Do like 25 laps of the building in a day on rollerblades?
In the middle of nowhere? It’s 3 blocks down the current campus, surrounded by the city’s rail and bus system, and 10-15 mins away from downtown San Jose.
You’ll be a fool to turn down a job from Apple. Or just ignorant not to take the chance to work for one of the top brands and companies in the world.
