A whole bunch of Apple products appear on House of Cards, a Netflix exclusive.

Apple executive Suzanne Lindbergh, who has been with the company for 25 years, confirmed via email today that she will be leaving Apple to take a position at Jawbone. Jawbone is a company that makes speakers and bluetooth accessories.

Lindbergh, a marketing specialist, had the official title of “Worldwide Director of Buzz Marketing” at Apple, which put her in charge of making sure Apple products made their appearance front-and-center in both big and small screen entertainment.

Her role seems to have focus on making sure that Apple products were strategically used and in use by the right people. Apple, unlike other companies, does not pay to get their products into movies and TV shows. Instead, they simply make free products available to productions for their use.

As for the reason for the departure, Lindbergh said via email that she was ready for a new challenge, and Jawbone presented exactly that.

According to TechCrunch, her role at Jawbone will be extremely similar to what she was doing at Apple. In a statement provided to TechCrunch, she says:

“I am incredibly excited to head to Jawbone to begin work on entertainment industry collaborations for Jawbone and their incredible products,” she says in the statement. “Excited to be part of a team who are defining the future of wearable technology and audio devices.”

I would not expect this to be the end of Apple putting products in movies and TV shows, but it will be interesting to see if Apple changes its strategy or if they keep the same strategy Lindbergh put in place.

Lindbergh tells us she created, ran and defined Apple’s movie and TV outreach program back in 1994, so it’s definitely a significant shift.
