MTS Increases iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 Prices on $55/month Contracts

iPhone prices continue to rise from carriers in Canada to reflect Apple’s recent price changes due to the lower Canadian dollar.

Manitoba carrier MTS has recently increased their 2-year contract prices on the entry 16GB iPhone 5S and iPhone 6/6 Plus on $55 per month plans.

The changes are listed below, showing the old price followed by the new price (and difference in parentheses):

  • 16GB iPhone 5S – $155 —> $229 (+$74)
  • 16GB iPhone 6 – $265 —> $349 (+$84)
  • 16GB iPhone 6 Plus – $375 —> $479 (+$104)

Rogers and Fido increased their iPhone 6 prices just over a week ago, shortly after Apple quietly made their changes. So far, no changes yet from TELUS or Bell.

Thanks Fred!
