Mophie’s ‘Watch Dock’ for Apple Watch is Tall, Slender, Gorgeous

A multitude of Apple Watch charging docks have been popping up in the weeks since the March Spring Forward event, including a simple and inexpensive solution from Griffin, a stylish piece from Native Union, an always-classy HiRise from Twelve South, and some incredible options via Indiegogo and Kickstarter.

Today, fan-favourite accessory maker Mophie joined the fray, revealing their simply titled and elegant looking ‘Watch Dock’.

The dock is built from silver aluminum that should accent your Apple Watch well (especially that Silver Sport version), and it features some well-placed black leather accents. The Watch Dock looks slimmer and taller than most of the other solutions that we’ve seen, and Mophie notes that “The slightly elevated, slightly angled charging position makes it easy to use your watch’s touchscreen and other features while charging. Use the dock at home or in the office knowing your watch is charging in comfort and you’ll never have to mess with tangled cables again.”

While I instantly fell in love with the all-in-one nature of the Kickstarter campaigned PREMIUM ONE docking solution, I’m a big fan of what Mophie has done with the Watch Dock. I’m most interested in a charging dock to go on my nightstand, and I can see plenty of scenarios where I’ll want to walk into the room and use the watch without removing it from the charger. Creating a taller-than-most dock means that users will be able to more comfortably reach their watch without having to pry it from the magnetic charging disc, hopefully leading to fewer dropped devices and fewer sore backs.

Mophie’s Watch Dock is available for pre-order now for $59.99US, and it’s set to ship on April 24th, the same day that those with the fastest fingers should start receiving their Apple Watches.
