Canada’s Unlocked iPhone 6s Pricing Starts at $899, Preorder Sept. 12 [u]

Apple has announced its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus today at its special event in San Francisco. Here are the unlocked prices for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus listed on Apple Canada’s website in Canadian dollars.

iPhone 6s

  • 16GB – $899
  • 64GB – $1029
  • 128GB – $1159

  • 16GB – $1029
  • 64GB – $1159
  • 128GB – $1289

Compared to last year, the price jumped locally due to our now lower Loonie. Here are last year’s original prices for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, followed by the recent increase in the Spring:

iPhone 6

$749 (CAD) for the 16GB model
$859 (CAD) for the 64GB model
$969 (CAD) for the 128GB model

iPhone 6 Plus

$859 (CAD) for the 16GB model
$969 (CAD) for the 64GB model
$1079 (CAD) for the 128GB model

Here was the price increase from this March:

iPhone 6

  • $749 for 16GB —> $839 (+$90)
  • $859 for 64GB —> $969 (+$110)
  • $969 for 128GB —> $1,099 (+$130)

iPhone 6 Plus

  • $859 for 16GB —> $969 (+$110)
  • $969 for 64GB —> $1,099 (+$130)
  • $1079 for 128GB —> $1,229 (+$150) (updated to fix an earlier price error)

Apple’s press release states Rogers, Bell, Telus, MTS and Sasktel will sell these right out of the gates on contract.

At least Canada gets to be part of the first wave launch, which takes place on September 25. Other countries include Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and US.
