iMac Pro Now Available for In-Store Pickup at Many Apple Canada Locations

Apple is now offering the brand-new, high-end iMac Pro for in-store pickup at many of its locations in Canada, the United States, and other countries.

The high-end all-in-one went on sale earlier this month and initial orders began shipping last week. Now that those are out, Apple appears to have stocked many of its retail stores with the computer’s default configuration.

According to Apple’s product page for the top-of-the-line desktop machine, it’s available for pickup today at the majority of its retail locations in Canada, but for now it appears that only the base model has immediate availability, allowing customers to place orders online from store stock.

Since the workstation is highly customizable, many customers may still prefer to order from Apple’s online store, where exact tech specs, accessories, and software add-ons like Final Cut Pro X can be selected as desired.

The iMac Pro starts at $6,299 CAD for a base 8-core model in Canada, with 10-core models available from $8,939, and these configurations are currently estimated for delivery by early to mid January from the Apple Canada online store. 14-core and 18-core models start at $9,899 and $10,859, respectively, but they don’t ship for 5-7 weeks.

“We reengineered the whole system and designed an entirely new thermal architecture to pack extraordinary performance into the elegant, quiet iMac enclosure our customers love — iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said when the computer was first announced at WWDC earlier this year.
