Apple Investigating Complaints of Glitch Causing iPhone X Users to Miss Calls

While Apple continues to address the fallout of performance throttling on iPhones with older batteries, the company now has another issue to worry about, this time in regards to its pricey iPhone X.

According to a new report from the Financial Times, Apple is said to be investigating reports of the iPhone X not displaying the caller ID or Accept and Decline buttons when someone is calling.

According to the report, affected iPhone X units ring when an incoming call occurs, but its display does not fire up immediately or show the caller ID, accept and decline buttons, and other information typically displayed when somebody is calling. It takes 10 seconds for the screen to finally turn on — sometimes, it could take longer. The result? Missed calls that shouldn’t have been missed.

Of course, the many people who took to the iPhone X forums are displeased by the bug, but at least so far, no one has found a way to fix it. Some iPhone X owners in the forum said that they went so far as to restore their iPhones to factory default and it still happened.

Some others said to update to the latest version of iOS to see if that would fix the problem. It didn’t. Restarting the iPhone X can fix it for “15-20 calls” but then it happens again, according to one forum user.

Apple told The Financial Times that it’s aware of the issue, though it didn’t cast a light on what’s causing it or when it will be fixed. All we know is that it’s “looking into” the reports posted on its Support Forums – some of which date back to December.

Currently on 11.2.1 and not experiencing this bug. Then again, not a lot of people call me. I get about 1 or 2 calls a day.

Everything else is email or messages (just so people don’t think I’m a lonely guy because no one calls me)

Lol it’s true though, if someone calls me it means they’re on fire, or something was unable to be relayed through text message or email.
