Apple TV App Coming to Roku, Amazon Fire TV and More Smart TVs

Apple today announced an all-new TV app is coming for its customers, while also unveiled its new paid video service called Apple TV+, coming later this fall. No pricing has been set for Apple’s new premium video service.

During today’s keynote, Apple announced new smart TV partners will get the company’s TV app, bringing greater access for its customers. The new partners include Roku and Amazon’s Fire TV.

The following smart TVs and platforms will soon gain Apple’s TV app:

  • Roku (future)
  • Amazon Fire TV (future)
  • Samsung (spring 2019)
  • LG (future)
  • Sony (future)
  • Vizio (future)

Apple previously announced Samsung smart TVs would be getting the iTunes Store plus AirPlay 2, while LG, Sony and Vizio support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, coming later this year.
