Freedom Mobile Ad Mocks the ‘Big 3’ for Raising Data Plan Prices [VIDEO]

Shaw’s Freedom Mobile continues its marketing onslaught of incumbent wireless players in Canada, with yet another ad targeting the fictional ‘Monolithic Wireless’.

A boardroom scene depicts three men, which we can assume represent incumbents Rogers, Telus and Bell.

One man is on the phone to a customer and says, “Hi there. We’ve got great news about your data plan, the price is going way up. No, that is great news—for us,” followed by evil, evil laughter.

The ad concludes with a voiceover from company spokesperson Will Arnett, saying, “Send these guys a message and join the millions who have switched to Freedom.”

The 15-second ad, titled “Acquisition Spring Raising Prices”, can be seen below:

Rogers, Telus and Bell, along with their flanker brands (with the exception of Koodo), have all recently raised the price of the 2017 holiday $60/10GB BYOD plan by $5-$10 per month.
