Rogers Starts Virtual Hiring for 350 Jobs in New Kelowna Call Centre
Rogers has announced it has started virtual hiring for its call centre under construction in Kelowna, B.C., bringing 350 new jobs to the Okanagan by 2021.
“We are proud to invest in Kelowna and help boost the local economy by hiring for high quality jobs that will keep our customers connected to their world, which is critical now more than ever,” said Rick Sellers, President of B.C. Region, Rogers Communications, in a statement.
Rogers says new employees will start virtual training in late summer, while being able to work from home until the new ‘customer solution centre’ is completed and can be opened safely due to COVID-19.
The new Rogers hires for Customer Solution Specialists, Team Managers, Senior Managers and support positions, such as Human Resources and IT, will help handle roughly 1 million Rogers and Fido customer interactions annually, says the company. All Rogers customer service teams are located in Canada, emphasized the company.
“We are excited to tap into the exceptional talent in the Okanagan region for our B.C. customer solution centre, which will provide further support for Rogers and Fido customers in the Pacific time zone,” added Sellers.
Rogers recently launched a 5G smart city pilot in Kelowna with UBC, while it says new network sites are coming in 2020 in West Kelowna and Osoyoos.
