CIBC App Wins ‘2023 Mobile Banking Award’

CIBC has been awarded the 2023 Mobile Banking Award by Surviscor, a firm specializing in analyzing and ranking digital customer experiences in Canada. The bank’s mobile app was ranked the highest among those offered by Canada’s major banks.

“We are proud that our mobile banking app has once again been recognized as the highest ranked mobile banking experience among the big banks in Canada by Surviscor Inc.,” said Michael Clabby, Executive Vice-President, Head of Digital, Data and Strategy at CIBC, in a statement on Monday. “We put our clients at the center of our thinking when it comes to delivering the best mobile experience.”

The Surviscor Canadian Mobile Banking Experience Review assessed 24 Canadian digital banking platforms, including those of Canada’s big banks, leading credit unions, and popular neo-banks. The platforms were evaluated across five categories: pre-login experience, user experience, account information experience, transactional experience, and mobile resources. The evaluation was based on over 300 individual usage criteria and more than 2,500 objective questions per firm.

“CIBC should be commended not only for accepting ongoing challenges in an evolving landscape in consumer mobile-based banking expectations, but for demonstrating the ability to continually adapt its mobile platform,” said Glenn LaCoste, President and CEO of Surviscor Inc., in a statement.

According to Surviscor, CIBC’s commitment to innovation has positioned the bank as a dominant player in the industry. The major Canadian banks have secured positions in the top eight of the overall rankings for 2023, but CIBC stands out for its consistent performance in mobile banking.

Do you agree with the Sunviscor study that the CIBC mobile banking app is the best out of all big Canadian banks? Last week, a study named TD Bank the ‘Best Consumer Digital Bank in North America’.
