Apple Expands Global Developer Support Ahead of WWDC24

Apple is expanding its support for app developers worldwide with new programs and resources ahead of WWDC24, according to press release on Friday.
These initiatives, both online and in-person, encourage developers to connect with Apple experts for guidance on apps and games, and to explore the latest Apple tools and best practices.
In 2023, Apple says it engaged with developers from over 160 countries. Ahead of WWDC24, Apple introduced updated Apple Developer Forums and the new Pathways initiative to connect with developers globally.
“It’s an honor and a privilege for our teams to work directly with developers at every stage of their journeys, from students and hobbyists, to budding entrepreneurs and coding professionals,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, in a statement. “We’re always looking for new ways to support this amazing community as they bring their visions to life and push the boundaries of what is possible.”
Apple’s 2023 developer initiatives include reaching developers in over 160 countries, hosting over 6,000 visits to Apple Vision Pro developer labs, nearly 50,000 Meet with Apple Experts engagements, and training over 3,700 students through Apple Developer Academies and Apple Foundation Programs.
Meet with Apple Experts had nearly 50,000 engagements, allowing developers to explore the latest tools and receive direct support from Apple experts. Apple Developer Centers in the U.S., China, India, and Singapore hosted various engagements, providing environments for business growth and app improvement.
Since June 2023, Apple Vision Pro developer labs have seen over 6,000 visits from developers optimizing their apps for the new platform in locations such as Cupertino, New York, and London. Vision Pro is rumoured to launch in Canada in July (no doubt it’s going to be insanely expensive here).
Apple Developer Academies and Foundation Programs trained over 3,700 students in 2023, with record female participation. Apple Entrepreneur Camp supported underrepresented groups, hosting five cohorts and celebrating its fifth anniversary.
Apple Developer Forums have been updated for WWDC24, offering streamlined navigation and improved technical support. Pathways, launched in May, has seen over 40,000 developers access its content on app development and distribution.
Developers can now experience WWDC on YouTube, in addition to the Apple Developer app (new stickers!) and website.
Monday is Apple’s WWDC keynote, where we’ll get to learn about the next versions of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS, watchOS and visionOS. Just three more days and we’ll find out how Apple plans to integrate AI into its software.
