Apple’s New Beats Pill Speaker Costs $199 in Canada

One of Apple’s worst kept secrets, a new Beats Pill speaker, has officially been launched today.
Apple discontinued its Beats Pill+ speaker back in 2022, but now it has relaunched a new version of the portable Bluetooth wireless speaker with significant upgrades in sound quality and durability.
The new Beats Pill is available in Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold, priced at $199.95 in Canada. It offers powerful, room-filling sound with battery life of up to 24 hours. The speaker is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for use at the beach, by the pool, or in the rain.
One of the key improvements is the redesigned racetrack woofer, which delivers deeper and fuller bass, according to Apple. The woofer’s innovative ridges and contours minimize distortion even at high volumes. Additionally, upgraded neodymium magnets bring 28% greater motor force, enhancing air movement and overall sound output. The tweeter has also been redesigned to ensure crisp highs and rich mid-range tones.

The Beats Pill includes a removable lanyard and soft-grip silicone backing for easy portability. Its streamlined design features a 20-degree upward tilt, so sound is directed at you. With the USB-C port, the speaker can also charge your devices.
For those on the go, the Beats Pill offers fast charging capabilities, with a 10-minute charge providing up to two hours of playback, which is super nice as most of the time your Bluetooth speakers have a dead battery from sitting dormant. Beats Pill also supports high-resolution lossless audio when connected to compatible devices via USB-C.
The speaker integrates seamlessly with both iOS and Android devices, ensuring instant pairing and extended range with fewer dropouts, thanks to Class 1 Bluetooth connectivity. The Beats Pill can also function as a speakerphone, allowing users to take calls and activate voice assistants directly from the device.
Priced at $199.95 CAD, the Beats Pill undercuts rivals such as the Sonos Roam which costs $229 CAD and just 10 hour battery life.
Beats Pill includes the wireless speaker, a removable carry lanyard, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a quick start guide, and a warranty card in the box. Who’s buying one of these just in time for summer?
