Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at its upcoming Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 10, but new information from renowned leaker Evan Blass has left little to the imagination when it comes to the new foldable smartphones’ spec sheets (via 9to5Google).

Marketing images leaked by Blass (@evleaks) in a Substack newsletter essentially detail everything we can expect from the latest generation of Samsung’s foldables. According to the leaks, the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be lighter and slightly thinner than their respective predecessors, while boasting longer battery life.

Both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will reportedly offer similar ‘Galaxy AI’ capabilities to the Galaxy S24 series, which was released earlier this year. What’s more, the Z Flip 6 will offer an intuitive new use case for Samsung’s Interpreter Mode where the user can display the text of a translated language on the front cover screen, pointing it toward the person they’re talking to while using the main screen to translate their words.

Assuming Blass’s leaks are accurate, here’s a breakdown of the specs for Samsung’s upcoming folding phones:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • 7.6-inch inner screen
  • 6.3-inch outer screen (0.1 inches larger than Z Fold 5)
  • 2,600-nit max brightness (up from 1,750 nits on the Z Fold 5).
  • IP48 dust- and water-resistance
  • “Improved Armour Aluminum frame”

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will supposedly be 14 grams lighter than its predecessor. As for its size, the foldable will be 1.4mm shorter, 1mm wider, and 1.3mm thinner when folded, and 1.4mm shorter, 2.7mm wider, and 0.5mm thinner when unfolded.

The camera system and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover glass remain unchanged. It will also have the same battery capacity as the Z Fold 5 at 4,400 mAh, although the marketing materials claim one hour longer LTE internet battery life and an extra two hours of video playback. The main display has a slightly different resolution, at 2160×1856 instead of 2176×1812 on last year’s model.

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • 6.7-inch inner screen
  • 3.4-inch outer screen (IPS instead of OLED)
  • 50MP main camera (as opposed to 12MP on the Z Flip 5)
  • 12GB of RAM (instead of 8GB on the Z Flip 5)
  • 4,000mAh battery (up from 3,700 mAh on the Z Flip 5)
  • IP48 dust- and water-resistance
  • “Improved Armour Aluminum frame”

In terms of its physical footprint, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is 0.2mm thinner than its predecessor when folded. The device’s other dimensions and weight are the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Samsung’s Z Flip 6 will also be the company’s first foldable to get vapour chamber cooling.

Per the leaked materials, the Z Flip 6’s larger battery will allow for two hours longer LTE internet battery life and an additional three hours of video playback. What’s more, the Z Flip 6 also more thoroughly mirrors the available colour schemes.
